The Ballad of Tam Lin

Ava Gardner stars in this version of the legend of Tam Lin, a famous ballad from Scottish folklore. It was the only film directed by Roddy McDowall, known for playing the ape Cornelius in the "Planet of the Apes" saga.

A rich and mature woman refuses to grow old and lives a life full of pleasures and forbidden games, in a large mansion with young people whom she supports for her personal enjoyment... One day, one of her young lovers falls madly in love with a peasant woman, which will unleash the jealousy and madness of the rich mature woman and lead to a spiral of sacrifice, death, and horror...
