Ilja Rautsi

Ilja Rautsi (b. 1979) is a Finnish writer-director, whose previous short horror comedy Helsinki Mansplaining Massacre (2018) has played in over 100 festivals, from the New York Film Festival to Fantastic Fest. The film has won 14 prizes, including best short at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and Australia's Monster Fest & the Méliès d’argent at San Sebastian.As a director, Ilja is also developing the feature horror comedy Red Snow for Bufo. As a screenwriter he has two features out in 2022, the dystopian drama Memory of Water (based on Emmi Itäranta’s successful novel of the same name) by Saara Saarela and the original horror drama Hatching by Hanna Bergholm.
